Winding up the week

As the trip comes to an end at the school and the team gets ready to leave the Rio Dulce area the school honored the group with an School Assembly. The students presented short acts and each of the team members introduced themselves. The annual 'grand finale' is a soccer game between the Gringos and the Guatemalan students.

Earlier in the day the team traveled further up into the mountains to a Community Center where many events and retreats are held. We have been helping them establish this center so people from really remote villages have a place to congregate.

Today they will pack up and head back to Antigua with one brief stop in Zacapa to check on a patient. Tomorrow they will get Melanie to the airport, check out a dental clinic we have been supporting in nearby Santa Maria de Jesus, and enjoy Antigua. They are considering going to Lake Atitlan on Saturday.
